Spoons & other objects

Most of the spoons and utensils I make are made from found wood from local trees near my home in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Some are crafted from discarded timber that has already seen one life and is ready to extend its purpose.

Carving a spoon from a fallen branch, or a found plank of oak, is the purest forms of meditation I know. For me, turning discarded timber into useful objects serves to silence my brain and, for those few valuable hours, allows me to be creative and produce useful things for everyday jobs.
